It's a tricky one. This game hasn't been a good advert for VAR. At the same time football is a MASSIVE business and people's jobs are won and lost over marginal decisions, so it is really important those decisions are as correct as possible. I've seen VAR used much more smoothly than today plenty of times, to the improvement of the game.

I understand your points, but if football starts to become like American football with flags and video's looking at all important decisions, then the game will be finished.

The reason many goals are scored are the defence is tired or make an error from continuous pressure. If they can take a few minutes to recover while video evidence is used, they will be happy to recover and reorganise.

Why would you need VAR when 5 are clearly offside? I mean, why bother with lino's?

Can't we just have the thing they use in tennis (the buzzer thing when it doesn't hit the line) and do rid with inept lino's?
