Although the criticism of Gus is well founded, his win % as manager is (still) pretty sodding good:

Oh l don't disagree with you. My big beef is, that if only he could have tamed that gigantic ego of his, and/or kept his big gob shut, he could and probably should have had a long career coaching and managing in the Premier League, rather than scratch about looking for 2nd rate opportunities around the world.

Naturally I concur.

His first mistake was deciding he was bigger than us prior to actually having a job offer to go to ... unlike Graham, who waited until he got the BIG offer prior to realising just how BIG he’d evidently become. His second mistake was Sunderland, and I’m guessing he’d not be alone in that to be fair... from there he’s jumped from frying pan, to fire, to other similarly hot places ... he’s back to a reasonably ‘high’ level managing Greece ... who lest we forget have won a major trophy fairly recently... this could be his redemption, and judging by his 75% win ratio start... he’s got a chance of building something fairly special... he might blow it, but I wouldn’t rule out a few headlines for the right reasons either.

He’s a better coach/ manager than Southgate that’s for sure - then again, there are many who are.

Couldn’t see a separate ‘new’ thread, which it probably deserves……

But, I see Sam Baldock has announced his retirement due to a series of injuries.

Great player in the promotion season, would like to have seen him have more than 20 mins in our first season in the PL…..

Good celebrations as well.

Good luck Sam.
