the host in the BT studio with Rio and Stevie G certainly sounded like she wanted to.

She did not stop banging on about it. She should have been included in the piece done by the Mail. Even Rio and Steve looked like they wanted to tell her to shut up after a while.

"Palace’s players looked small, self-indulgent and petty in their protests against all evidence. Grown-ups 1 Toddlers 0. A good win, that."

Apart from that, what a night!!! :albion2:

Agreed. VAR definitely removes some that rush of excitement when a goal is scored and thats why I've aways been against it.
It's too early to tell if that's the case, and I don't think it will be. Presumably nearly all goals will stand, so we'll get used to VAR and forget about it, and celebrate as usual. Then sometimes a goal will be cancelled due to VAR, and since that will usually be the correct decision, that's hardly a negative.

Wrong decisions all get evened out over time anyway
No they don't.
and they give fans something to argue about which we all enjoy
Bollox to that, we've got enough to argue about already.

Brighty clearly and obviously a genius in the Trump mould :tosser:

To be fair. The screenshot game is a dangerous one. Look at this CLEAR handball from Murray moments later, for example.

The ball hit the net where the top of Murray's sock is in the second picture. If it had hit his elbow, it would have landed in the back of the net, having been diverted by his arm.
It could even be said it was Uwe's goal, because it skimmed over Murray's knee without changing path.

Oh I know. I wanted to just illustrate how a single screenshot can sometimes be misleading

You could add that quote to your signature, just underneath the Muppet Show.

Lynsey actually lives very locally in W Sussex but is an unfortunate Geordie and based on this perhaps a Palace sympathiser!?

Seeing all the Palace fans making TV Screen shapes with their hands towards the BT Pundit Box was priceless, one guy nearly fitted as he launched into what looked like big box, little box ..... etc etc

She should know better than being a Palace sympathiser, she's married to an Albion fan. I'm sure she's more than likely been told to stir up the VAR by her director/producer.

The only trouble using that screen shot as an example, is a small part of Murray's arm is covered by the ball. Therefore the ball is quite clearly in front of Murray on that angle so has already passed him and can't have hit his arm.

She had air time to fill, so had to talk about something, anything.

The replays showed that the ball definitely changed direction after hitting Murray's knee. Not 100% it would have gone in otherwise.
