Following on from Albums Thread 2017 stick all your recommendations for new or future releases in here, whatever the genre.

Some from me:

JANUARY
Shopping - The Official Body
Post punkish three piece influenced by the likes of Au Pairs and Delta 5

Dream Wife - s/t
Mixture of Scandinavian pop and something more heavy

FEBRUARY
The Orielles - Silver Dollar Moment
Jangly indie stuff from a bunch of teenagers.

Hookworms - Microshift
Single seems to suggest they are moving into New Order territory.

MARCH
Holy Motors - Slow Sundown
A mixture of Scandinavian dream pop, shoegaze and er Chris Isaak. Very film noir.

Plenty more other stuff, see Upcoming Releases from Resident

Really REALLY looking forward to Anna Von Hausswolff's new one in March.

A bit Kate Bushy, quite intense with Nils Frahm appearing to boot.

My favourite thread bar none.

Just looking at NME's list of new albums for 2018 and the following pique my interest:

Jack White [no album name yet]

He's always good value for money whether he plays it more conventional indie rock or whether he indulges his love of Americana.

Manic Street Preachers - 'Resistance is Futile'

The album title suggests they're still angry rockers but have they still got it or are they just old men waving their fist at clouds?

Vampire Weekend – ‘Mitsubishi Macchiato’

I think this is their first new album since Rostam Batmanglij left the band so will be interesting to listen to how they sound without him. Ezra Koenig's solo album last year would suggest a change of direction so I'm curious to find out.

The Prodigy - [no album title]

They're last album was dreadfully lazy. I think this could be last chance alley for them before fans consign them to the history books.

Spiritualized - [no album title yet]

The first new material for 5 years. I hope this one is as good as the last but that it doesn't slip under the radar in the same way.

Breeders, Interpol, Chvrches, My Bloody Valentine are also scheduled for 2018 releases...

Looking forward to Orielles too. Think they are one of the few bands worth watching on The Great Escape line up to date.

Checked your video out, very good, a bit of a Franz Ferdinand meets Syd Barrett era Pink Floyd feel to it. Will try and get to one of the gigs.

I've got my second album as DAMSELFLY - 'An Awkward Bow' coming out on the 31st January...

On balance I'm probably most excited about The Ex's new record due on 22 March '27 Passports.' Their last album 'Enormous Door' was superb, they've been consistently brilliant live and they released this banger in the interim.

Additionally, they popped their gargantuan back catalogue on Bandcamp last year. So much great stuff in here. A good shout for most underrated band on the planet right now.
