My concern, and judging from the remarks on here, I am not alone, is that the PC zealots have become as extreme in their interpretation of what constitutes racism/homophobia etc, as the original discrimination against certain minorities was. Just as the Burnley match started, the chap next to me said that for the first time in ages, a team took to the field without one black player. He was simply making an innocent observation, but then felt the need to subsequently tell me on three occasions that he was not racist. How did we ever get to a point where fear takes over, when none should exist.

It’s a bit like the time we went through Mark McGhee signing big black strikers. We all knew it was happening but nobody could say it on NSC for fear of being called a racist :lol:

Its farcical, that we have even come this far. Liam please spend your time on the real issues of FGM, arranged marriages, under aged sex, Russias stance on gay relationships, the ethnic cleansing of Rohingas and the lying mealy mouthed politicians. Your offence and the outrageous claim to strip LH of his MBE is risible, I find Liam Hacket and his cohorts offensive offensive, no doubt they masquerade under the label of being a charity.

I suppose it is important to those who have dealings with people struggling with gender issues and of course to those who are permanently offended, either by the stuff people say or the fact that the stuff people say sometimes offends people. The thing about this stuff is that to really get het up about it you either need a personal connection to it or both the ability to make wild assumptions about what people think and why they think it and only be on nodding terms with the subject being discussed.

But what if people didn’t know the background of the person presenting? Here are many students who disagree with you, who think it’s unacceptable It seems though you are ok on free speech on certain self defined boundaries and a family video by Hamilton overstepped your sensitivities.
