I don't think it is the Black Lion. From my memory of going there a lot in the 80's, they didn't have tables and chairs at the back. I'm not sure if the car park was even tarmac. The beer garden was where it is now.

Every time I see a notification for this thread I think ‘brilliant, someone has got it’ only to suffer endless disappointment on opening the ba****d thing. It’s the ‘pub identification’ equivalent of the ‘There is ZERO chance of singing anyone today’ thread.

Im starting to wonder you know. Not saying its a wind up, good one if so, but if the oracle that is NSC and CAMRA cant identify a Sussex pub from the 80s. Well I cant see such a thing existing
