I now live in Northumberland and the newsagent in my village is a devout Newcastle fan. This morning he said that our teams are losing their value as the next transfer window approaches. When we were 8th I think we could have got a decent striker but as we slip down the table is that still possible?

All about money. Playing for a PL also ran doesn’t matter if you’re in position 9 or 18.

I think your newsagent may have a point. Yes it’s about the weekly wage however if the team drops a division then the wages drop too so if we look like we’re on a slide to the Championship then it’s bound to be a big consideration for any potential signings. We are at this stage a gamble as to whether we will stay up or not.
