For those ISIHAC fans and those of one of the countries most prolific gag writers, Barry Cryer is appearing at Lewes Con Club on Thursday 14th December. He is doing one of his shows with Ronnie Golden which promises an evening of comedy songs and gags galore.

He is amazing live. took my late dad to see him, thinking it would be more for him.... but.. i bloody loved it. thoroughly recommend.
an unsung 'national treasure' to use that phrase..

He's superb live - well worth seeing.

He's a thoroughly nice bloke too: spent ages in the bar afterwards talking to audience members, no big airs and graces

A very down to earth bloke as well. I know someone who frequents the 'spoons in Hatch End where he goes and

Seen him live many times over the years going back to when he & Willie Rushton used to do their double act. Top bloke.

I once went along, to make up the numbers, to a Bob Monkhouse gig and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Very funny and rather blue at times, never expected it to be that good.

Top man. I sat next to him when he did a gig at the first Lewes festival (and he got me tickets for the next ISIHAC at the Theatre Royal)

Thanks for the heads-up - tickets purchased.
This will be 2 firsts for me - first time I have ever seen Barry Cryer live, and first time I have ever set foot in a Con Club (and hopefully the last time, too)

I saw him, accompanied by Colin Sell, at Hay Festival a few years ago. He was superb.

I did the exact same thing many years ago and felt the same way.
I never really liked Bob Monkhouse on TV. He always seemed a bit smarmy to me.
My whole opinion of him changed after seeing his live show..
