is it just me or does this deflect away from the real issue....I arrived with about half and hour to Ko and there was serious disturbances outside the ground with Brighton fans waiting for the palace fans to arrive...lots of pushing and shoving . i made my way to the north stand entrance, was being patted down, and suddenly the whole crowd surged forward towards the memorial garden /coffee seller where the palace fans were being escorted and i saw punches being thrown and the usual pointing bravely by twats.

I got in the ground and my mate was stuck outside and witnessed brighton fans trying to get up the stairs by the west stand to get at the palace fans who were goading them.

It then transpires, from a video posted on youtwatter of palace fans storming over turnstiles and stewards being threatened and entering the ground with no tickets...they then as witnessed by all teh 30K+ fans in there smoke canisters being let off..pyrotechnics and bangers going off...

So apart from all that we are all concentrating on a stupid copper who reported that he saw knuckle dusters and knives, when it looks as though there wasnt some...which may even lead to the resignation of a highly respected officer at Sussex.

So who are the criminals here...the palace fans who behaved like twats and meant that genuine fans with tickets couldn't get into the ground, or a stupid police officer who reported something that wasn't actually seen?

Very disappointed in Sussex Police.

They're one of the best forces in Britain but let themselves down with the fake news. I haven't read the whole thread although an apology is due in the next matchday programme to the fans or the official Palarse website.

Indeed.

It does beg the question whether any of the guilty at the palace end are stoking any of this deflection to get off the hook.

I see your point but the 2 events are exclusive of each other, both wrong

it seems like it. I would have expected the club to have started to issue banning orders or at least identify the people who ran through the turnstiles to get in with no tickets. I have no axe to grind with palace fans as I have really good mates who follow them, and it was them who suffered because of a bunch of wannabe hoolies who thought it was fun to crash the game.

I cant see also looking at the other thread how restricting them to 2000 will not mean we have a repeat in january. In fact it probably be worse as there is now a damn good excuse for the neanderthalls who thing nothing of causing trouble to come down...tickets or not.

Another fecking stupid decision made by TV for their viewers in India and China!!!

Yeah but it's fraudulent. Anybody else misreporting something that didn't actually happen wasting police time would be charged

Just seen this on club site re the FA cup game

"Sussex Police have also confirmed, any supporter found to be in possession of pyrotechnics with the intention of bringing it to the stadium, will face arrest and prosecution."

But surely they've missed the bit that states that if you manage to get them into the ground feel free to light up an we will will do feck all!!!!!!!

Latest tweet from Sussex Police. Apparently it's their procedure.

"We arrested 3 men found to be in possession of a battery and fireworks. We charged one and let the others off."

As my post clearly says. Look at the word before 'stewards'. Hence them either not giving a shit or being instructed not to give a shit. Basically the entire away end was completely abandoned for 85/90th's of the game to self-police. Which is a total disgrace and failure of duty of care. And that duty of care in OUR stadium in the end comes down to OUR club, not theirs.

Looking forward to the Lessons Learned Report being made public and acted upon. Preferably before the Cup tie.

You're right you did say away. 'stewards'. The quotation marks threw me!
