I wouldn't dispute that! However, I prefer music to be lifechanging, as opposed to quite good. That's why, apart from my dad, Jackson is my all time hero. Sadly, there are too many Bridcutts out there and not enough Van Bastens.

So do I (prefer music that is life changing, that is) - and there are a few things on this thread that were life changing for me - but JB just isn't one of them. Like I say, Marmite.

Completely different genre but Sly Stone was from SF so this definitely qualifies and puts me in more familiar territory. This is the opening track to There's A Riot Going On. This is the sort of track that goes on forever and still finishes leaving you wanting more.

Dennis Wilson, as I think you alluded to in an earlier post, was also smitten by Manson and hung out at his commune much to the disgust of the other Beach Boys I believe.

Has to be said that Dennis was a complete feck up in his later life through drink and drugs, with people avoiding him wherever he went. Sad indeed.
