I know, but isn't there data based on what all the bookies are offering?

You've got it the wrong way round. Betfair is people like you and me - a marketplace. Bookies will take their lead from Betfair, not the other way round.

*scrap that, I see Bozza has also explained. I'm not a betting man you see...

Surely the exchange prices will be affected by what fixed odds are on offer by the bookies?

As if to prove the point, England have drifted a touch out to 3.7 despite being 4 or 5 runs closer to the target than when they were 3.6. That's probably because Lyon is back on, and the perceived market wisdom is that he is likelier to take wickets. And as you say, if 2 wickets go down soon, England will probably lose and those odds will be out to about 12 or 13.

157/3, odds on England to win are now below 2/1 with Australia about 4/6.

I think that now puts this test match officially in the balance. In all honesty, it is absolutely incredible that England have got this close really. Let's be clear, if they do lose it, it'll be by no more than 100 runs. Who'd have thought that as Warner raced off the field after England's tail were finally mopped up. At that point I was expecting Australia to be over 300 ahead with 9 wickets remaining at close of play last night.

The Barmy Army review piss-taking is fantastic. I can't imagine it's winding Smith up in the slightest.

Look at those Aussies: spitting, angry sledging.

I heard Matty Prior on 5 Live last night and he was saying that he's been told that the Aussies have gone well over the accepted line with their verbals in this series already.

Stick to your game chaps - see the day out.

Bugger... Malan bowled from round the wicket by Cummins.

He toughed it out really well... but that is a huge wicket at this stage of play

At least Root is still there. Whilst he is, there is still hope.

Great bowling from Cummins to be fair. You can't grumble when then genuinely do the batsman with quality bowling, shame they haven't needed to do it more often in this test.
