it will be dull. he might find a few billion down the back of the sofa for Health and formally remove public sector pay cap, which opposition will complain is not enough.

Its a damage control Brexit budget. Weakening tax receipts and massive uncertainty, not much will happen. He's in a difficult position under attack from all sides including the rabid right in his own party

If he puts more duty on diesel, then he is sticking the knife in even more to business all over this country. We were all fed the line about how much better diesel was for the environment and being trustful of our elected representatives, many of us switched to diesel. Now we are being told that this is not true. BIT BLOODY LATE. Virtually the whole of the commercial sector is run on diesel and it is already paying an unwarranted premium over unleaded. If the cost of transporting our goods and services keeps increasing, this will continually be passed on and we will continue to experience prices rising faster than wages.
FFS, when will these idiots realise that the most important vehicles on our roads are commercial vehicles. They are the lifeblood of our country. They are ensuring that we have food in the shops and essential supplies are getting through to where they are most needed.
What next? Is the commercial sector now all going to switch back to unleaded, now we are being told that it is better for the environment and is cheaper. It is nothing short of criminal that misinformation and lies were perpetuated, when politicians knew the truth but let millions of people continue switching to diesel, in the innocent belief that they were helping the environment.

Diesel is better for the environment in the sense of CO2 emissions, which is why it's use was encouraged, this is still true and wasn't a lie. The problem with diesel is increased NO2 emissions which affects human health. Two different issues, each with financial impacts on the taxpayer.

Chancellor has some money due to an increase in tax revenues due to a stronger than expected economy(Independent)
No... that can't be true. BrExit has destroyed the economy and we haven't even started yet.
