I did a simple one a few years ago during the Ashes.
Next batsman out, sign up to half a dozen bookies, made over £200 in the first session without risk. Which was nice.

This is so much easier to explain face to face with some paper examples. I thought Bozza was going to organise a school on this. May be an evening meet-up for beginners would be beneficial for those interested. Somewhere in Worthing being ideal.

Because there's no scale.

Even if you had all the time and money in the world, you can only have one account per bookmaker (although friends may allow you to "help" them do the same). So for any given offer made by a bookie you can only work it once. So if that offer is "Join us and get a £20 free bet" then your upside is capped at £20.

However, if you can educate hundreds or thousands of people to take advantage of these offers, and charge them for doing so, then your earnings are far higher than simply doing it yourself.

Bookies want new customers. Bookies want to give offers to make existing customers bet with them. Matched Betting involves playing these offers in a prescribed way that means you will profit from them.

Yep, I'm getting it now. Not heard of these sites before. Going to have a look at it.

Good start. Was there any reason as to why you stopped? There are over 60 new customer offers listed on MatchedBets with potential profits of over £1,000. A lot of the offers are standard 'Bet & Get' but even the ones which have rollover requirements can return a profit. They just take an extra step or two to complete.

I had to take all my profit out of Betfair to pay a bill..

I might get back into it one day if I can be arsed

Sport Nation have been offering some good enhanced odds offers recently. Their new customer offer can return a profit of around £50 with matched betting but it can take up a bit of your bank. There are a few enhanced odds offers around for this weekends football that have a max stake of £1 but can see some good returns.

50/1 Spurs to beat Arsenal (info here)
40/1 Man Utd to beat Newcastle (info here)
Or for anyone interested in horse racing, 66/1 for Special Tiara to win the Shloer Chase at Cheltenham on Sunday (info here)

I am going to back Man Utd at 40/1 - is there any catches ?

I'm assuming this is a new customer offer for Coral or similar.

You can take it as a straight punt - you'd certainly expect them to win - or you could lay them off so that if they don't win, your lay wins.

The winnings will almost certainly be paid in free bets and that's where the guidance provided at MatchedBets.com comes into play, as you'll be given step by step instructions as to how to turn the £40 free bet into guaranteed cash.

Shortage of time recently unfortunately. Give me a week or so and I'll try to set something up for those that would like a low-level walkthrough of how it all works.

Similar for me. I needed the balance I’d accrued to pay for a holiday.

I started with a small pot, but a few “mistakes” led to me having to commit more than I was comfortable with to the exchange. Obviously, I got it back as the profit was guaranteed, but it was tight while it was tied up.

I feel I want to give it another go, too, but will be more careful early doors this time.

Is the £1 introductory offer always there or do we need to use it in a particular time-frame?

The one tool that looks particularly interesting is the acca backer and too evaluate that, you have to purchase the full package and not the trial

That is the entry package on the site if you join through the website, the NSC £1 offer

"The best way to try Matched Betting just got Better. For limited time only, Get FULL access to our premium package for only £1."

Offer valid until 30.11.17 per the link

I'm away next weekend so going to give it a go on the 29/30th so it covers the first weekend in December as I want to see how good the Accabacker is. I'm particularity interested in how it stands up to Paddypower and the dreadful odds they give on 1x2 bets which are very hard to find good matches for seq. lay acca.

I started profit squad 12 months ago and my profit from sports, casino and bingo offers is edging towards £5k at the moment so it does work to generate a steady tax free extra income. It most definitely is not a get rich quick activity and you don't need a huge betting bank, I started out with £25 into Betfair and £10 into Betfred.

Another one for tonight's game. This isn't strictly a matched betting offer as it's tough to get a match on #BetYourWay, but it does have value.

Place a £5 'BetYourWay' bet on Brighton v Stoke and receive a £5 free bet.

BetYourWay are bets that have been requested by punters. You can request your own by tweeting @betway and using the hashtag #BetYourWay.

If you don't have a Betway account, remember to take advantage of the sign up offer first: https://www.matchedbets.com/free-bets/betway-free-bet/

Anyone see any on there that they fancy?

I'm not a massive fan of matched betting. As someone who has gambled for 25 years, I'd rather spot value and make money that way rather than nicking a point here and there getting slowly banned in the process. I have enough trouble getting on as it is.

That said, a friend of mine makes a living out of this process. He has multiple identities and trades every day with Saturday being the lucrative. Whilst he has part time work he's made this into his primary form of income so much so he has no mortgage. If you want to make a few quid, don't mind being restricted at Bill Hills, can understand the difference between pink and blue and have a bit of spare time of your hands this is the easiest way you can pick up 4 figures in a short space of time there is.
