That moment when you think "Oh man this is good, I'll share this and people will consider me a little controversial but with some valid points to make in a candid way. This absolutely won't expose me as a short sighted daft bigoted d1ckhead AT ALL......."

For F---S sake , don't take everything so seriously, you Lefties!

But surely that is the point of being a "leftie"; you take things seriously, you think about and challenge things that are wrong and don't just smugly sit back and accept that the Rupert Murdochs and Barclay brothers of the world deserve all the wealth while the vast majority graft for minimal wages.

I wonder if the left leaning on here would like to redistribute what wealth they have however little to set the bench mark

I do sir, every time I pay my taxes. If more money is needed to keep the hospitals open and the police tackling the surge in crime, I would not complain if those taxes went up a bit.

Have to agree.

The amount of people smugly agreeing with that pompous nonsense is a sight to behold! Where do these people come from?!

Smug pomposity another trait often found with some left-wing types as is a lack of a sense of humour ...

Shamelessly copied and pasted

A young woman was about to finish her first year of university. Like so many others her age, she considered herself to be Labour Party minded, and she was very much in favour of higher taxes to support her education and for more government programmes – in other words, the redistribution of wealth.

She was deeply-ashamed that her father was a rather staunch, blue-ribbon Conservative, a feeling she openly expressed. Based on the lectures that she had attended, and the occasional chat with a professor, she felt that her father had, for years, harboured a selfish desire to keep what he thought should be his.

One day, she was challenging her father on his opposition to higher taxes on the rich and the need for more government programmes. The self-professed objectivity proclaimed by her professors must be the truth, and she indicated so to her father. He responded by asking how she was doing at university.

Taken aback, she answered rather haughtily that she had a 90% average, and let him know that it was tough to maintain, insisting that she was taking a very difficult course load and was constantly studying, which left her no time to go out and party like other people she knew. She didn't even have time for a boyfriend, and didn't really have many university friends because she spent all her time studying.

Her father listened and then asked, “How is your friend Audrey doing?” She replied, “Audrey is barely getting by. All she takes are easy classes, she never studies and she barely has a 50% average. She is so popular on campus - university for her is a blast. She's always invited to all the parties, and lots of times she doesn't even show up for classes because she's too hung over.”

Her wise father asked his daughter, “Why don't you go to the Dean's office and ask him to deduct 20% off your average and give it to your friend who only has 50%? That way, you will both have a 70% average. It would be fair and you would both be equal.”

The daughter, visibly shocked by her father's suggestion, angrily fired back, “That's a crazy idea! How would that be fair? I've worked really hard for my grades! I've invested a lot of time and a lot of hard work! Audrey has done next to nothing toward her degree. She played while I worked my xxxx off!”

The father slowly smiled, winked and said gently, “Welcome to the Conservative side of the fence.”

If you ever wondered what side of the fence you sit on, this is a great test!
If a Conservative supporter doesn't like guns, he doesn't buy one.
If a Labour/Green doesn't like guns, they want all guns out-lawed.
If a Conservative is a vegetarian, he doesn't eat meat.
If a Labour/Green is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.
If a Conservative is gay, he quietly leads his life.
If a Labour/Green is gay, he demands legislated respect.
If a Conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation.
A Labour/Green wonders who is going to take care of him.
If a Conservative doesn't like a chat-show host, he switches channels.
Labour/Greens demand those should be banned.
If a Conservative is a non-believer, he doesn't go to church.
A Labour/Green non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced. (Unless it's a foreign religion, of course!)
If a Conservative reads this, he'll forward it, so his friends can have a good laugh.
A Labour/Green will delete it because he's "offended”.

We are just one more Tory blow job away from a Marxist government. Have a nice weekend

Trouble is Oneillco, some Lefties ( quite a few it seems) lack a sense of proportion and judgement. They often get outraged and offended as much by the things that don't matter as they do by the important matters. This makes them come over as overbearing, nanny knows best, smug, moral high ground, virtue signalling, po faced individuals.
By the way, 'tis a bit of a sweeping statement to say that the vast majority graft away for minimal wages, isn't it? Not many are as wealthy as the Barclays and Murdochs, but most on this board, for instance, seem to enjoy a reasonable standard of living, I would suggest.
Finally, just because an individual is not a Leftie it does not automatically mean they don't give a flying f--k for their fellow human beings. Far from it. I reckon those who are most likely to sit back smugly are the well off middle class, Metropolitan elite sorts, who say they love Corbyn and left wing politics, whilst at the same time swan around flaunting their wealth. They hold their left wing views, because they can afford to, but in truth, they would be horrified if they had to mix with the riff-raff and metaphorically get their hands dirty.
Real hypocrites!

Trouble is Block Zzzz is that your above statement is just parading your own personal prejudices - the people you generalise about are more a figment of your imagination. Of course there are some who might fit your description, but you are surely aware that the left is a spectrum as of course is the right. I for example do not share a Corbyn view of the world but am more appalled by Boris Johnson or Jeremy Hunt view of the world

OK, thanks for that. So on the Conservative side of the fence -

It's OK for any nut job to own battlefield capable weapons in the name of self defence and no one should point out that this will not end well.

No one is allowed to raise the issues of animal cruelty, red meat causing cancer, Bovine Methane contributing to global warming, animal antibiotics causing new bugs to develop that can't be killed .....

Gays should shut up, keep it to themselves, and pretend to be straight, or face rejection from their family and community instead of expecting fairness and equality under the law.

One of the greatest acts of human civilisation, the NHS and the welfare state, should be abolished and everyone should just look after themselves and F**k everyone else.

Famous people should be allowed to be obnoxious in public simply because they are famous.

It's OK for any crackpot religious sect to fill kids heads with their crap, scare the shit out of them with threats about burning in hell but promise salvation, if they just do what the middle aged virgin priest tells them to do - really, and that's OK

No, I would not send this to my friends as I would be to ashamed to let anyone know what kind of Conservative I actually am.

And yes, I'm on a night shift and I'm bored brainless.

I have waited a long time to make my first post but this thread has finally pushed me over the edge. Aren't you all missing the point of the OP's story - both father and daughter endorse the Marxist labour theory of value? Discuss....

Ridiculous. For the analogy to work it would have to mean that you get paid higher for the harder you work, do you think for example a PL footballer works harder than a nurse in an average week?

Here's a better analogy from an American -

'When you get rid of the estate [inheritance] tax, you’re basically handing over command of the country’s resources to people who didn’t earn it. It’s like choosing the 2020 Olympic team by picking the children of all the winners at the 2000 Games.' - Warren Buffett (snowflake lefty libtard)

Brilliant. Buffet is reported as having set up a $2bn trust fund for EACH of his three kids. Poor little things, Dad really making life difficult with all this principles stuff. It must drive them to distraction. That makes them some of the most wealthy in the world, enough to make the Olympic team though for sure.

Phenomenally Generous philanthropist, and many benefiting from his work

But if that is all the hard left did then I think many conservatives would accept it.

The problem is that they don't. They impose their views on others and shout down anyone who doesn't agree with them - there is no interest at all in debate.
