I'm aware that Stones was sold the previous summer (I'm not that senile yet) but the money for his sale wasn't really spent. It's true they bought that lump Williams, but at £12m he was just a small bite of the Stones money. The real replacement for Stones was Keane - bought this summer. But even counting Williams, that's still a net spend of about £37m.

But I totally agree with everything that was said about wasting money/not spending wisely. Their transfer policy was shocking.
