It was a penalty - agree with everything the pundits have just said.

If anything such a theatrical reaction to a genuine minor foul is more likely to result in a penalty not being given I reckon.

Convenient. They did show him hurling himself embarrassingly to the turf in the penalty area at one point, but there didn't appear to be a yellow card given for that one, so one can only assume he did it again later.
