Donald Trump is going to punish the USA team for not qualifying by sending them to North Korea. Quite a shock - at least we're spared hundreds of viewings of Trump and Vladimir Putin cosily chatting in the stands while a World Cup football match is being played.

The FIFA suits will be gutted. They've made CONCACAF the easiest qualifying region just to ensure the US get through (seeing as they travel in the largest numbers and pay the most for TV contracts) and now it's all gone tits up. Lovely stuff.

The other good thing is that England have finally managed to do better than the USA at a World Cup for the first time in 12 years.

Best bit is there were 27 permutations for the North America qualifying and only 1 meant that USA didn't qualify
