Don't think you can criticize any of the lads specifically today. Izquierdo maybe a bit off the pace, however he hasn't started a game for us in the Prem yet... But a 2-0 loss away at Arsenal is not a disgrace whatsoever. We also had good chances to score ourselves with the March strike and the Murray header. Overall, I think you have to give the lads a lot of credit especially Duffy, Dunk and Ryan.

Was a bit dull for about 80 mins but yer was ok...... Can see why smaller teams don't sell their full allocation after a couple of seasons in prem as at times it's not even a contest.

The BBC summary includes these statements:
Routine win
Akin to flat track bullies of old
Arsenal could easily have scored more

The Telegraph:
Only a matter of time before Arsenal scored
Brighton's best chance was to test the suspect defence, rather than just defending, which we didn't do
Dunk kept the score down.

So, outclassed and never in the game.

I think you have to be a bit realistic when you come across teams who have spent at least 10x more on their team away from home that we are going to be up against it. Never in the game is overly harsh imo especially when March came so close to equalizing at 1-0 but each to their own.

Was there undercover with the gooners and was happy with the first half but disappointed with the 2nd. Needed to be a bit more aggressive without going all out imo

Thought all the team did their job except the two izzys, both faded and looked disinterested before being subbed

I am very realistic. I don't blame anyone from the club or team for such losses. Arsenal became a huge spending try-and-buy-success club many years ago, so beat us by playing far better players.

Very unlucky Brighton, think we deserved at least a draw. However sometimes you don't get the good fortune you deserve. Had Solly's blistering shot not hit the post who knows, we'd probably have gone on to win 3 or 4:1. However it was not to be and alas the mighty Albion come back from their travels empty handed but by no means disgraced, amen.

Highlight of the game was Dunky's perfect wrestling hip-toss on Sanchez and him trying to tell the ref he had dived!:lolol:
Quite frankly,Arse's defenders are shite, and were there for the taking.Onwards and upwards,UTA.

That's frightening about the Izzy's. With Hemed, they're our best chance of creating and scoring to have any chance of staying up.

Arsenal were never really troubled by us - they will see that as a comfortable home win. But we did not embarrass ourselves and if we can continue to be this solid we'll be ok at the end of the season. Ryan has come good and Dunk is surely going to get some interest in the transfer window. The problem for us today - apart from the gulf in class - was that Stephens and Propper were over run.

Which is who three man CM's work against better players. Loads of clubs play that way these days.

My worst fears came to fruition.

The Albion had no intention to score from open play, and for all their good play came away with nothing.
The bore-offs who cream themselves over 'Hughton is too defensive', will be like a dog with too dicks.

Sure getting the team attacking without compromising it's defensive duties is a tough balancing act, but they have to do it better than that.

Rolling over for City and now Arsenal, means we can expect the same for Chelsea, Liverpool, Utd and Spurs.
All of whom can humiliate the Albion, but so far the team has clearly been told to show to much respect for 2 teams that weren't entitled to their comfortable wins.

Realy pleasing watch after the first 15 or so first half. 2nd a little subdued but certainly did ourselves credit & didn't get tonked. Very proud of the lads today & proud to support my local team as always

Embarrassing post. Don't care if it's sarcasm or not, Arsenal and Man City are in a different league and we have made both of them uncomfortable for spells. If you expected much more you are quite frankly delusional.

Yeah thought given they hadnt played much they'd be out to prove themselves, especially Brown...... although early days for them both I guess

Last 15 mins was really good. Maybe should have gone for it a bit earlier like that, even if it meant losing 3-0 4-0

We looked like a newly promoted team finding our feet in the Prem trying not to get tonked. It's a bit much to expect we go to the Big teams grounds and give them a real fright at this stage. Arsenal were cruising for most of the game but we fought well, had some good spells with quality performances notably from Dunk. On to the next one.

A lot of regular Premiership teams below the top 6 try not to get tonked at Emirates, thought we gave them a couple of scares, definitely nothing to be negative about.
