I am going to sound a proper luddite here but I keep reading what an echo dot does and I still do not really get the point of it? Surely you need smart technology to fully utilise it?

It makes MONKEY NOISES. What more do you need ?










It does other stuff too, the first thing I said to it was "Alexa play Disraeli Gears" and it did, no arguments, none of the "I don't know what you mean" bollocks you get with Siri (and I'm an apple fan), no playing Africa Bambaata or Adele, it just did what I told it.
