One the funniest comedies I think I have ever watched.

Season 9 about to start in October, Larry is joined by Jeff, Funkhouser, Leroy, Suzie, Richard Lewis for more brilliant absurd adventures. Not to be missed! :lolol:

The whole catalogue currently available on Sky Box Sets.

Agreed, just brilliant. Thanks for the heads up.

Funniest sketch I ever saw was with the Chef with Tourettes and all the restaurant supported him by shouting out whatever.

Also agreed, with the exception of the Larry Sanders show (which used to be on v late at night on BBC2, but haven't seen it for years). I think they had the same scriptwriting team.

Arguably one of the funniest scenes in US tv comedy history!

Michael Yorke "Bum, f*ck turd fart c*nt piss shit bugger and balls!" :lolol:

Episode 3 of season 10 was aired last night, and I haven't laughed that much in ages. Honestly, Larry David may actually be getting better at doing this stuff. Hilarious telly.

For me there are two stand out comedies on the box - Alan Partridge and Curb Your Enthusiasm. Two comic geniuses surrounded by a superb supporting cast.

I watched most of the first episode and found Larry's need to be 'put out' rather grating.
To me he was coming across as very 'false' (probably not the word I want).

Still brilliant. Honestly, if you haven't seen this, indulge yourself.

Getting better and better.

Yeah, the first episode of season 10 was a bit forced, but it has got a lot better. The lawyer - Larry interactions I think are very funny. Suzie and Leon are as hilarious as ever, and 'caught in the middle' Jeff is still great, his reaction to Larry getting a portrait done of his wife I just thought was classic wtf moment for any husband in the same position.

I thought that was the problem with the main character ? I think I watched one but it quickly turned in to a pointless shouting match. Funnily enough, that's what was going through my mind watching Adam Sandler in Hidden Gems the other day on Netflix, I didn't bother finishing that either but you might like it.

I liked the episode where he found the street vendor who could guess everybody's weight just by looking at them. Then he got kicked off the plane at the end because his bags of coffee beans exceeded the allowable weight. Classic

I love Susie Essman and her character - there's a women in our New York office who is exactly like her

Good reading, all this. I finished season 8 last week which had the most perfect ending, as Larry's series-long avoidance of socialising led him first to NY and then Paris. It was almost, well, yes, beautiful. The perfect finale.

Haven't gone any further as season 9 is 7/8 years later? And I don't know if I want to see them all older and greyer just yet (can Richard Lewis look any older?!).

Gosh that show made me laugh though.

Just saw the episode where he goes to an Italian restaurant and is convinced that they have a seating policy where the good looking diners go to the tables by the windows and the ugly ones get ushered to the back area by the bogs. He then turns up with a very attractive woman and they still get sent to the ugly section. The woman, according to her husband, has a magic vagina - which was a cue for some great one liners from Leon. Funny episode.

I just like the way he takes some quirky aspect of human nature and just runs with it.

The one when his 'spite store' next to Mocha Jos burns down when he doesn't get out of the way of the fire engine is laugh out loud. So many good scenes - asking for the second opinion on his knee, asking the mixed race couple what colour their kid is going to be, and the woman he sexually harrassed getting her memory back and moving into the house next door to his with Mocha Jo - brilliant.

I'm new to this - but what a joy. I've already binged S1, and am now just a couple of episodes into S2. HOW HAVE I MISSED THIS FOR SO LONG ??

Larry David kind of reminds me of a more clued-up American Victor Meldew. Obnoxious, frustrated and opinionated, someone who unfortunate things just seem to keep "happening" to, when its not necessarily always his fault (but often is). The writing and acting is so good, the exasperated conversations so natural. The episode where he ends up at an "incest survivors" meeting had me in bits.

I'm so happy to have this vast series to plough through right now. Its cheered me up no end. Anyone who hasn't tried it - try it. I missed it for too long.

Easy, all I can say is, you lucky boy. Perfect time to binge watch this. It just gets better and better as well.

Watch out for the Tourettes chef at the end of season 3. Especially the profanity that Susie comes out with. Funkhouser is such a great character. And Leon, funny as fukk.

There are some shows that trail off after a few seasons. You have the fact this gets better to look forward to.
