Ardingly
Looking overhead and at the pitch, it ticks every box for a batting day. :ffsparr:

Surely not. I suspect it was not Brown's decision as he put in Northants last week after winning the toss. Doubt he would have been such a silly-billy again.

Another for George. Very pleased - lovely lad and a real talent.

Robinson, Archer, Garton & Whittingham must be the youngest 4 players to form the main bowling attack for Sussex in a Championship match for a very long time, if not ever....

Aged 23, 22, 20 and 23 respectively.

Good isn't it. Miles of improvement left in all of them too!

Adrian Harms BBC morning online review

An excellent morning for the visitors after being asked to bat.

In truth, Sussex have bowled poorly on what looks a very good pitch, but credit the Derbyshire openers Ben Slater and Luis Reece who both batted well before giving their wickets away when well set

Stuart Whittingham bowled two very quick overs before lunch and looked the most menacing of the Sussex attack, making it very surprising that on his recall to the side he hadn't bowled earlier.
