I guess a loan move from us was a no go as we already have Izzy Brown and I guess Chelsea don't want to sell as he's just signed a 4 year deal ?

TBH loan to a Championship is best thing for him. Chelsea will want him to get regular game time and he wouldn't dislodge either Dunk or Duffy. Whilst Schelotto is a far better option at right back.
