I agree had high hopes for him given the fact we're only playing one up. His set pieces are just lofted in too with no pace.

In fairness we know we're light up front and club is doing something about. It's agents and transfer windows that make August a very tricky period for non established clubs especially in the PL.
Unfortunately Sidwell is not even on the bench. Surprising and disappointing.

New boys are struggling aren't they?
Ryan must be close to being dropped already. Last week he played pretty well but conceded a goal that he could have done better with. This week he concedes a goal that he very definitely should have done better with. Combined with the howler against Atletico madrid that's three goals in three games. We simply cannot afford to be in a relegation battle with a keeper who gifts goals on a regular basis. The cup game is a massive opportunity for Maenpaa.
Suttner looks very shaky.
Proper looks like he's a decent player but needs to tighten up and get used to the pace of the game.
Gross ineffectual at best.
Plus side: we're in the game and apart from the odd individual error/sloppy play don't look out of place. We clearly need time to gel more and aclimatise better and we need the cutting edge that Knockaert, Brown, Isquierdo and the new striker should provide. Get those boys in the team and in a few weeks time we should be a proper team...hopefully that won't be too late.

Strange half. At times we had some good possession although didn't create much. At times we were also rabbits in the headlights!

Agree. How about Rosenior for Suttner too? So much experience there and won't be fazed. Suttner talks about buying a sofa and going to the pier. Need to hit the ground running! Still supposed he's getting experience this way.

We're not. He's not looked good in the Championship for a while. I think PL will be much for him.
The game would open up more for the Albion if the opposition were concerned about being beaten for pace, through the middle.
Clearly Gross isn't that player, assuming the club find that player I have high hopes of Gross being a considerably better player when asked to do the job he actually can.

Bring on Knocky now? Let's not wait for 2-0 as seemed to happen last week. Let's try and change the impetus of this game. Pray we don't concede early again in the second half.
