Yes, Hughton did say that. He hasn't trained with the team at all yet. Maybe on Sunday.

Probably because you had both Scottish FA and the Israel FA to contact and agree so probably about the same time scale for Izquierdo. Would be surprised if it is done by now. Hopefully he will get 30 mins v Barnet.

Providing he gets clearance in time I don't see what possible harm just naming him as a sub would do. It will give him an early chance to get used to the dressing room on a match day, even if he doesn't actually play.
After all, no disrepect intended, but this is Barnet we will be facing, not one of the Premier League heavyweights, so it's not as if every substitute is likely to be crucial. Add Jose to the teamsheet l say! It will give everyone a lift.

I really hope we are not expecting him to be our saviour? He needs time to settle in, learn how to wait for a pass to throw his head at and needs to learn the language and such phrases as " give me the fecking ball". There was a press conference this morning. Hughton intends to play him (and Knockaert).
'That is our intention. We're just waiting for the last bit of paperwork to go through but it is our intention to use him on Tuesday."
