Brighton factually.....
Just saw this on facestorytime

Ghana striker Raphael Dwamena won't qualify for an automatic work permit to enable him sign for English Premier League newcomers Brighton and Hove Albion because he has not play enough matches for his country.

Non-EU players have to play 75 per cent of their country's competitive matches over the last two years - if the country was in the top 50 of the FIFA rankings to qualify for an automatic permit.
With Ghana currently 50th in the FIFA ranking, the 21-year-old would have qualified for an automatic permit if he had played 75% of the matches for the Black Stars over the past two years.

Brighton have negotiated a deal worth in the region of £12m for a player

Clickbait. There are plenty of examples of players that didn't qualify for an automatic permit but got one after a hearing.

13 - 9 = 4

Well aware of that. Can manage basic maths. Just wanted to know if sky sports had actually stated the fee reduction overnight had freed up the last bit of our funds as had been suggested.
Clearly it was an attempt at humour so pretty irrelevant anyway

We love doing things the hard way but it would not be Brighton if we did it the easy way.

You can just imagine Barber / Bloom reading that and thinking "Oh shit, we hadn't factored that in at all. Bugger".

Actually, no you can't.

SSN saying fee is now £9.2M. So we have another 4M to sign other players.

I was reading an article somewhere today that stated in some cases, fees agreed are not neccesarily paid up front but are staggered over the course of an agreed time frame. Of course, we are not privy to our business, but if some of our more expensive signings have been purchased that way, then we may have more in the kitty than media are speculating. :)

The hearing won't be till mid to end of next week, the last one was on the Wed. If it fails, that leaves 1 day only of the window left, for an Appeal or abandon ship and find another player on the last day.

That often happens. It seems that was a major stumbling block in Barcelona's bid for Coutinho. Their final offer was worth up to 118 million but they were only offering 16 mill up front.
