My partner, who is from Scarborough, is convinced there's not a single pub in town that she'd want to watch the football in on Saturday.

However, that's where we're going to be. Does anyone here have any local knowledge? Any suggestions? Is it really that bad?

To be fair, the OP didn't say there weren't any places, he said his partner reckoned there wasn't one she wanted to be in. I think he's looking for a recommendation of somewhere decent, not just somewhere showing the game.

This is correct, thank you. The BTSport website will even give me a list of every pub with a subscription, but it won't tell me whether or not we'd actually want to go there.

Scarborough pubs are alright. I was there on a walking holiday a couple of years back and whilst you won't find some wanky craft ale pub they are passable even if some of the locals are a bit backward. The town is better than the seafront. If you are in the town, the casino was about the nicest venue.

Accepting that might not appease your mrs, we stopped for a pint at the three jolly sailors just up the road which is a nice venue. I remember watching sport in there but whether they have BT I don't know.
