PREDICTION TIME

OK, folks - it's that time of the year where your unbridled optimism (hey, we're level on points with Chelsea AND Manchester City at the moment) gives way to a wrecking-ball reality check. So while we've got your minds, hearts and souls looking our way, let's have your season's predictions. Simply answer these seven straightforward questions, and you too can look a wise pundit / utter fool* by mid-May...

These questions only refer to the men's team in the Premier League, though you can answer for any Brighton & Hove Albion side if you wish...

1. Who will be your Albion Player of the season?

2. Who will be the club's top goalscorer?

3. How many goals will we score in the Premier League this season?

4. Which of the new signings will have the biggest impact (for whatever reason)...?

5. Who or what will be surprise Brighton 'package' of the season?

6. How many red cards will we pick up this season in the Premier League?

7. Give us a wildcard prediction - any prediction on the forthcoming season.

Seven Dials
1. Duffy - he and Dunk will be the strongest candidates but Dunk's disciplinary record will mean he p,Amy's fewer games.
2. Murray - sorry to be obvious, but he's got the knack.
3. 36 - it won't be pretty, but once again it will be the number of goals we concede or don't that will decide where we finish.
4. Gross - if you can create the most chances in the Bundesliga for a relegated team then you must have something special.
5. Connolly - we'll be down to the bare bones away from home in December and Hughton will take him along for the experience. Freak injuries in the warm-up get him a place on the bench and he's thrown on late as we chase the game. He equalises and the new Peter Ward (or Bryan Wade) is discovered.
6. 8
7. Southampton relegated.

42

4. Which of the new signings will have the biggest impact (for whatever reason)...?

Defensively we'll be in the top 8 best in the league. Our back 5 will play a minimum of 30 leagues game together and it will be the bedrock of our team and our success.

6. How many red cards will we pick up this season in the Premier League?
3 (Murray, Suttner, Duffy vs Everton!)

7. Give us a wildcard prediction - any prediction on the forthcoming season.
Chelsea and Tottenham to miss out on Champions League football, Everton to finish third from Liverpool in 4th. West Ham and Leicester top 10 along with Arsenal and Southampton. 5 teams to be separated by 1 point going into the final day of the season at the bottom of the league, Pascal Gross to score a hatty in a Brighton win at Anfield to secure a dramatic 4-3 win and survival against all odds. It's Pascal Grosssssssssssssssssssssssssssss :albion:
