he's not the only one. my boys still sing sausage boys even though they know it's incorrect!

We had a few safe alternatives to some of the ruder chants in the Family Stand at Withdean. Instead of the "You're shit...aaaaah" there was "more chips....please". And after a young lad in our group shouted "the referee's a gangster" we adopted that too.

My youngest thought similarly when he was younger...."Good old sausage by the peas".

And talking of misheard chants, I once heard a woman ask what Brighton had against Bill Oddie. She thought we were singing "Build a bonfire, build a bonfire. Put Bill Oddie on the top"

These nicknames are rubbish aren't they, not as good as they used to be anyway.....Tank, Nobby, Spider, Sully...proper nicknames.......another reason why football is going down the toilet.....
