Seems unfair on Zohore that he won't get immediate PL experience because of a Warnock hunch.

You're joking. He signed a contract with Cardiff City, unless both parties are happy to break the contract, that's the way it is. It was EXACTLY the same as Dale Stephens last year.

True - but made Dale unhappy/pissed off for a while did it not?

Yes, but I'm arguing with your statement that it is "unfair" that Zohore doesn't get an immediate chance to play in the Premier league. It clearly isn't.

But by the same token - would Dale not have felt the same way when Burnley came knocking?

£13.5m seems crazy money, even these days. He's had half a good season in the Championship, and has 1 in 5 this term.

Britt Assombalonga is of similar age and has a far better record at that level, and the Nottingham press reported that the fee for him was just over £10m with the rest made up of add-ons. Even makes Chris Wood look like good value IMO.

Zohore I think has the potential to be way better than Wood and Assombalonga. He is effectively a mix of both of them. 6'3, quick and scores goals albeit only recently. £13.5m in my opinion was a very fair offer and not overpriced at all. There were rumours that reading bit 7-9m for Hemed.... If that was the case you can why Zohore's value would be considerably more.

Would love him here, not just a goal scorer, involved in nearly every goal they have scored, got him at 33s e/w to be leading scorer in championship

Such a shame that Cardiff had to go and win their first five games of the season, if they'd languished a bit then I reckon they'd have sold him

Using the Brighton argument about Stephens....."there is a good chance he (Stephens/Zohore) will be in the Premier League next season anyway."

Let's see where Cardiff are at Christmas, as I've a hunch they'll slip to mid-table.

Zohore may well be only worth £8m by then.

1 goal so far this season......same as Sol Bamba.....

Keeps on like that and they might regret not taking the offer on the table. Not going to get anything close.

Seems like some Cardiff fans are regretting not taking the cash.

Same as Tomer Hemed, Imagine signing a player for that much who isnt an improvement on what we had.

Cardiff valuing Zohore at £17 million is like some muppet going on Dragon's Den and valuing their tiny business at £1 million on the basis of "potential".

Northern Hemisphere.
Looking back, our attempt at bringing in a striker did seem rather desperate. £17m for a championship striker? We also bid £17m for a completely unproven player from the Swiss league, and then to top it off, we offered big on Janssen of Spurs who has been a total disaster there.

with hindsight, I think we're going to be grateful none of those transfers actually went through.

We still have our 13.5 million pound weapon to unleash yet! Let's hope he is worth the wait. (he's only played a few minutes)

Pretty sure it was 10 million for Dwamena that was accepted

Andone is the real deal and a very hard worker.

Borja (though Naylor rubbished it) is also very highly rated and will be one of those players Porto/Benfica pick up, stick in a 60m+ release clause and sell on.

Didn't Warnock say to a Cardiff fan it was £13.5m, still a lot.

Of course it is in the agents interest to talk the price up.....
