Still think we need another five to strengthen the overall squad
LIKE. (Apart from the not in squad blue when viewing on Tapatalk. Making my eyes go squiffy.)
Personally with Brown joining (and assuming we don't sell Murphy) I would be much more relaxed about cashing in on Hemed if Reading come back with a stupid sum for a 30 yr old with 1 year left on his contract provided we can muster that additional Baldock type striker.
Back to the original idea I now think we're net +4 players short.

Five - as opposed to seven. Quite a difference, especially as two of the 5 (defensive cover and GK) aren't going to be automatic first teamers, just cover.

Interesting if we get the U21 right back.
Do we also get a 5th player, or do we only name 24, meaning a free agent can join at any time if needed and be given the 25th place at a later date if required ( permitted under the rules ) ?

i missed out Murphy. Also think Goldson will go on loan if we get Gomez. I think u21s don't count towards 25 so presumably Gomez and Brown wouldn't count in a 25.
That's pretty comprehensive - Gomez not in the running according to today's Argus:
"Albion are no longer in the running for Joe Gomez as cover and competition, The Argus understands.
They had been interested in borrowing the versatile young Liverpool defender."

Without specifying positions, it would be nice to have 4 more players including a little prem experience - I have no idea which of our current squad can make the step up. However, I trust in the club to do what's right and only spend what we can afford. If we go down this year - we go down, no problem.
