Drinks, morning session, Day 2... England 409-7 (100 overs)

Moeen Ali 83* and Stuart Broad 24* have put on 42 runs from 10.3 overs, to claw back the initiative after South Africa bagged the early wickets of Root and Dawson.

Hopefully this is going to put Broad in a good mood, 2 sixes to bring up his ton :)

Hilario cricket there as Broad gets his 50.

Morkel bangs it in short, Broad hooks for six. Next ball, Morkel bangs it in short, Broad hooks for six. EXACTLY the same ball, same shot, same outcome.

All a bit like General Melchett explaining his reasoning for going over the top despite everyone getting annihalated on the previous 19 occasions they tried it.

Morkel steaming! goes for four more as Broad backs away and drives him through the off side, and tries to repeat the dose and is dropped at slip as Amla tips it over the bar :clap2:

You toil in the field for 458 all out and then need to bat for around 15 minutes before Lunch. Oh Dear... :lolol:

Early interesting move from Root / Broad... round the wicket to Elgar, 4 slips and a leg slip... ATTACK

STUPID run from Elgar... direct hit would have had him - Dawson at short mid-wicket missed from 10 yards :nono:

Lunch, Day Two

South Africa 10-0 (4 overs), trailing by 448, Elgar 9* Kuhn 1*

Great session for England, adding 101 runs thanks to Ali 87, Broad 57* and Anderson 12... and a few alarms for the SA openers with Anderson and Broad (87mph) back in harness :)

How times change! There was a time when Kuhn would never have got selected for South Africa, but now they're prepared to give a debut to a man who is 33.

I could go on about quotas but it is a shame for the saffies that they lose players like the England opener who would prefer to play for England!

It isn't the likes of Jennings that are their main problem. It is more the 5 or 6 former SA Test players who have effectively renounced their nationality in order to play in County Cricket as Kolpaks.
