German paper quoting €25m which has meant Schalke and Dortmund have pulled out of the race to sign him.
Could be that Werder Bremen aren’t prepared to sell to a rival in the same league and the price is inflated because of that, but if true I can’t see us paying that much for him.

Exactly this. We spent £50m + last year. This we have have fewer gaps in the squad and more money to play with. I’d be surprised if we don’t spend something like that on one player this summer.
