As for naff videos, I would raise you Dancing in the Street by David Bowie and Mick Jagger, but does this make Bowie uncool[/QUOTE]

Dire Straits were cool for one song, Sultans of Swing. That was it.

Thinking about it, that's probably what I meant!

      How about the Isley brothers!

Sublime rhythms, sublime guitar solos and just brilliant harmonies.

I would have thought the Isley Brothers were seriously cool. How about "Harvest for the World". Cracking stuff.

Equally you could argue that Jay-z is a bit of a tw@t, and that many in the business would regard him as such, and not cool at all. By comparison Jurassic 5 or Chuck D are the epitome of cool. And I say that as someone who owns a few Jay-z albums.
Indeed. I was just pointing out how subjective this all is.

You're still wrong about Bruce though.

      Bryan Adams
The Mrs dragged me to a Bryan Adams gig last November (it was her birthday so whatever she wants right) at my least favourite venue, Sheffield Arena.

He was bloody brilliant and I loved it.

Having spent 9 years living in Yorkshire, I also loathe Sheffield Arena. ****ing terrible place. Not a good seat in the house.

Only seen Adams once myself, in Canada, but he really won me over.
      My vision is augmented.

China Crisis were great and not uncool.

If they were disliked, it would be by people who simply hated the New Wave genre.

Mike Oldfield - Tubular Bells - is that still cool now?

Was mighty cool in the mid-70's
      Still listen to it now.

YouTube has some brilliant versions, completely updated, played at various Hogmanay celebrations in more recent years under Edinburgh Castle to huge crowds.

They are brilliant. He was and is an immense talented musician.
