At the end of the month I'm running a stall at a charity event
and have been tasked with coming up with a game that is low-cost,
does not require lots of equipment (for carriage), is fun and will appeal to all ages.

Last year I did the same and opted for a golf putting thing - but it was
murder resetting the balls all the time and the ground was sh*t and not as
flat as I'd hoped. So - ideally a game that is not played across the ground.
I have a plot around 9ft by 9ft.

Any ideas from the great and good of NSC?
(guess the cake weight is off the agenda - I can't bake cakes to
save my life. So too coconut shy - ) .

This is an absolute WINNER! Never seen anywhere other than 1 fair local to me. It's called smash the egg and using French Bowles you under arm (or over) throw the ball at an egg sat onto, in a carved hole to keep it nestled in, tree stump. If you land the boule onto it SMASHES into a very satisfying splat and the winner gets a i smashed the egg sticker. 3 or 5 Boule for 50p/£1 from
Behind a line (kids line is closer) and have a bucket of water with fairy liquid in to hand to clean off. Seriously, it's very addictive and very hard even if looks easier than is. People keep coming back wanting to SMASH THAT EGG...without managing to.

Lots of fun, cheap to run and loads of people queuing to have a go. Forget the coconuts, that's so 20the century. Try to lob a steel French boule onto an egg from distance and when you do and it explodes...! Should be an Olympic sport!
