As per usual with England a tournament starts and we lose our heads. Why has Rashid been dropped? An incredibly poor decision. He is England's leading ODI wicket taker since the last world cup. Why did we chose to bowl? Because we underestimated the Bangladeshi's, and thought we would just roll them over and win at a canter. That is partly why Rashid was dropped too, they obviously just thought these Bangladeshi's do not like fast bowlers or bouncers and they will crumble. If we lose this it will be because of arrogance and poor thinking from the beginning.

To be fair, in the last warm-up game they did get bounced out by India. Not supporting the Rashid or bowl first calls, mind, and presumably on a very different wicket to this one...

Good effort from Bangladesh and England look a bit limited today.

Shouldn't underestimate the effect of a road at The Oval though.

Plunkett gets two in a row, Tamim top edges a flier to Buttler and Mushfiqur is caught in the deep first ball... two new batsmen at the crease... might just knock the total back a bit...

261-4 (44.4 overs)

Plunkett on a hat-trick...

Shakib Al Hasan holes out off Ball... 277-5 (46.4 overs)... innings faltering somewhat... disappointing for Bangladesh... surely this will be a straightforward chase?

Steady over at the death from Plunkett, finishes with 10-0-59-4

Bangladesh 305-6 (50 overs)

England will be pretty happy with that.

Hales nearly blows it.
Imagine how good our batting line up would be if we had a pair of openers.
