Errrr... actually... hate speach is illegal.... he openly advocated discrimination by religion and sexual orientation.... among many other things, the terrorism theme was simply the cherry on the evidence cake.

With views like this it is beyond religion and a direct threat to western society. I would tag all the Muslims in the videos above and even offer them good cash to leave this country and go to one of their choosing. If they are sucking on benefits it would be cheaper in the long run to give them a lump sum to leave.

Army deployed to college in Trafford

Armed police have blocked off access to Chorlton Road in south-west Manchester after being called to college in Trafford. We don’t yet know if this is connected with the investigation into the bomb attack.

The army is being deployed a day after Manchester chief police, Ian Hopkins, said troops were not being deployed in the city.

Well, if they're redundant and empty it makes perfect sense to use them for something else. How do you go about the conversion though? I guess they need to remove the pews and pop some shoe racks at the door but what else? Is there some sort of Mosque style stone cladding for the outside? Guess the stained glass windows will need replacing? Or are they quite sympathetic to the original design and prefer to keep the period features?

Indeed, more sustainable to convert an unused existing building than build a new one.

Segregated areas for the women/girls .. somewhere at the back? Prefer the Wetherspoons/apartments option.

I think it's important to always keep a clear distinction between "Free speech" and "Hate speech" - There is a clear difference between preaching hate or calling somebody the "N" word to having the free right to speak out about our governments or things we may not all agree with.

Agreed, but I'm responding to the idea that Choudry did nothing wrong in teaching ultra conservative Islam. If someone tells people here that they the Quran says that Muslims should fight us, then that is incitement in my view, and should be punishable.

It hasn't though, has it?

There are a handful of people here with what I'd term relatively extreme views, then are the majority of largely decent "live and let live" sorts. Maybe the minority are louder and shoutier, but I know who they are and generally skip over their posts.
