I would rather we languished in the lower leagues than stoop that low. I dont think the concern is that high yet though, 1 time in the 3rd tier in our whole existence and that was for 1 season shows that whilst we have gone down this year its not exactly alarm bells yet

He's a good manager, will probably end up at FCP.
A great club, but will the silly PL money talk and join boring Watford.
I forget to mention, many think Stains will sack Puel this week due to their dull low scoring style, and Silva has been mentioned as their target.

Bournemouth, with a top ten Premier League finish, give hope to all smaller clubs. And Southampton - just above them - do the same for clubs like us.
Places 8th to 17th separated by 6 points and each of these 10 teams won 11 or 12 games.
That seems pretty much a marker.
They've done well but it may surprise people to know that the current squads cost in transfer fees:
Southampton £171m
Bournemouth £89m
With squads packed with players costing £6m to £16m.
So no fairy tales, but the media would have you believe otherwise because of the tiny Bournemouth stadium.
Remarkably all clubs from 8th to 17th each won 11 or 12 times! Using that, we will need say 11 wins and 7 draws, or better, as a target.

Yes, I think they do - different sort of feel altogether. Liverpool fans know that although they were once invincible in England, as well as being absolute masters of Europe, they've had years of (relatively!) harder times (but wouldn't most of us love Liverpool's 'Harder Times!'), with various managers trying to get them back to the very top but not quite making it - Rafa, Rodgers, Hodgson, etc.

Also, those prices aren't transfer fees paid, they're market values, so ours includes Wilshere at £15M and Callum Wilson at £8M (which is obviously nowhere near what we paid).
However, even with that, we're the second best value £ per point, so I think it seems pretty good.
