Unfortunately that post demonstrates your ignorance of politics, being that your gripes are aimed at an MP and not the local council that introduced the things you're griping about. Common mistake for those who really don't understand politcs, yet scarily are still allowed to vote.

Funnily enough I have a customer who was a Lib Dem MP who lost her seat at the last election and she was in yesterday. I got chatting politics with her and the subject of Caroline Lucas came up. She was of the opinion that she isn't as nice behind closed doors as her public persona would suggest. I don't have a view either way but it was interesting to hear the view of someone who has had dealings with her in a working capacity

She is my MP and would never vote for her as I think Greens are generally potty.

However, as a person she seems ok but just belongs to the wrong party.

I don't like Caroline Lucas, she's a self serving politician riding on the crest of the good wave groovy gang, many parts of the city centre are no go areas now but that doesn't matter as many of her uber middle class luvvies are tucked up safely in their £1,000,000 urban homes at night safe in the knowledge that when they head out to the North Laine on Saturday for their skinny latte's with their free to express themselves brats, they will be safe.

Brighton has no go areas, really?
You see this is the other side of the coin, she is an MP, so you have to be sceptical, someone has already said she is not so nice behind the scenes.
If she is not as nice or good at her job as she seems to be then she is not the first and certainly not the last, but she is an expert at hiding it for the cameras and public engagements.

I thought I'd already answered that. Apologies if not clear. Her work as a local MP has been nothing short of exemplary. Much the same as when Andrew Bowden was MP for Kemptown, he was well-respected across the political spectrum for the amount of work he did for his local constituents. I think Caroline Lucas is even better. I've had friends who have had reason to contact her for advice and even though it was outsider her remit, she made sure that they got the right help from the right people and even followed up on it.

You can't blame Brighton's homeless problem or scruffiness or drugs problems or the state of the seafront (all issues that I think are getting worse) on her, those are local council issues and the Greens were bloody awful when they were in charge here. Likewise, I think her party would be bloody awful if they ran the UK but they won't and I am not voting for her party, I'm voting for her as a local MP. I don't see any contradictions in voting for her despite her policies when there's very little from any party to make me want to vote for them.

I'd also add that I think UK politics and parliament are better places with wider representation and for people like her in it. Regardless of your views, I think you'd have to admit that she votes with her conscience, she's in it for the right reasons and she's trustworthy. All commodities in rare supply with politicians nowadays.

Having dealt with her through work, she was probably the rudest, most obnoxious MP I have ever dealt with. Claire Short came a close second.
