In some weird strange world Trump is actually implementing policies associated with democratic socialist policies right now. So floundering might not be the right word. Plenty of things are going on at present there. It's the speed at which they happened though is the problematic thing.
Right now he's out lefting the party that's supposed to be full of left leaning politicians.
Providing free medical care for anyone who has the virus from test to recovery. A protection clause that people can't be charged twice by medical facilities (which happens).
Waiving federal student loan costs during the pandemic.
Proposing to pay for up to 80% of people wages until the crisis is over, businesses to be paid bonuses to start re-hiring workers asap.
That's actually three decent policies.
Of course that doesn't offset the total farce that was the first stimulus package where both parties happily pushed through the biggest amount of money ever to the corporate sectors.
The fact they all worked so hard to make the vote on the bill private so nobody could see who voted which way shows they all want to protect their false images especially the Democrats and that that they oppose Trump. It's one massive scam. Only one senator stood up to this shady process and he got absolutely battered for it.
In regards to Putin, he's always under fire. People can openly slate him to no cries of xenophobia or takes any issue taking pot shots at Russia.
Yet for some strange reason China has these sycophants that try to down play their insidious nature despite having their corrupt tentacles in far more places of power than Russia does.
One of those tentacles is right up the arse of the top man at the WHO.
Putin doesn't have that kind of power and reach.
China - it must stem from their huge economic might, the second superpower with the USA. With a vast domestic market, countries and corporations fall over themselves to do business with the Chinese. Issuing public apologies at the slightest home truth, “said in error”, that rile their sensitivities .... we’ve seen several companies grovel.
Whilst Russia may have a strong military (in their region) and ruthless network able to murder dissidents with ease, but their main economic strength remains just natural resouces.

Spot on.
Russia's true reach is regional. China's is global.
Which is why it was amusing to see people fall over themselves to try and justify Russiagate as a thing when it should be that any politician or bureaucrat who comes out defending China is who should be put under the brightest of spotlights and investigated for corruption.
Starting with the head of the WHO.
This is what the WHO said at the time Trump had banned foreign nationals who had been in China recently.
That says it all about the WHO for me.
They are more concerned about the bottom line and those paying them than actual health.
You, me and the dog next door know that banning travel is a sensible idea in these times.

I'm not a fan of Trump and Pence in the slightest, I despise many of their policies. But independently of that, I never lose sight of the murderous regimes in Russia and China.

Things not looking good for Dr Anthony Fauci, US Infectious Disease Specialist...….. Apparently there have been moves to blame Fauci for not suggesting social distancing much sooner amid claims that this lack of action has cost thousands of lives. Donald Trump Re-Tweeted a post calling for Fauci's resignation.

Fauci guided America through AIDS, coming out the other side with the total respect of everyone who became instantly reassured by his presence now.
That was never going to sit well with one person in particular.
I'd like to think Donny has finally met his match, but I fear the steamroller will win this battle too.

The moment I realised that Dr Fauci kept telling truth and sticking to the science, rather than the faux happy-clappy “everything is wonderful” political rhetoric, was the moment I realised that he’ll be sacked sooner rather later (or made to disappear from press conferences).
If that comes with a character assassination, falsely blaming in part for the crisis, it’ll be both predictable and disgusting.

Read up on FDR. His use of Keynesian economics led to vast expenditure on infrastructure, the lot of the poor improved markedly during his 4 terms and the USA only went to war when Japan coward’s punched them in Dec 1941.

I dread to think how low he could go. He's a fraud.
Since the late 19th century the USA has more often than not been imperialistic, which country in history with a significant edge hasn’t? Even Sweden subjugated its neighbours through military might.
The Trump discussions aren’t singling him out for that and military spending, or for their largely free enterprise economy.
It’s the racism, refusal to condemn Alt-Right murderers, tearing up the book on climate change and pollution (affecting us, our kids and grandchildren), destruction of our precious environment, the lying, misogyny, evil spitefulness to anyone that crosses his path, complete lack of interest and empathy in the poor, and the reversal of social/healthcare policies enacted by his predecessors.
