Not just that act, the whole flipping Nazi weekend.

An issue which was given air by people wanting to remove statues they knew would stir nasty shit up. If nobody had said or done anything about a few statues none of this would have occurred.

As they did though even if you find these people appalling which they are they still have a right under US laws and constitution to freedom of speech.

If they'd been able to say their stupid shit and everyone ignored them then they would have skulked back from whence they came looking rather stupid and had no kind of rallying cry.

Soon as they are engaged by these other idiots on the other side of the spectrum the violence breaks out and people get hurt and sadly killed and more idiots pile into the shit storm.

This sadly is exactly what the likes of George Soros want. That's why he funds a lot of the miscreants that turn up and start trouble at such gatherings.

Who would have thought 75 years ago is still relevant today

I thought the characters in that cartoon looked familiar. It's the same cartoonist who did The Cat in the Hat, Dr Seuss. I didn't realise he was also a political cartoonist.

Yeah, sure, if you say so. As if that was EVER going to happen. Hail Trump.

Don't be ridiculous, this has nothing to do with Trump.

This issue has been festering long before Trump arrived on the scene. One side just took that opportunity to start acting like complete ***** and being violent and now we have the other side starting to react in kind.

Violence begets violence.

One extreme view point is just as bad as the other. There's no taking sides here, they all need to be called out for being the fringe lunatics they are.

1. You say this has nothing to do with Trump, but at the same time you indicate that Trump's election and impassiveness has given the far right/nazis an "opportunity to take".
2. "One extreme view point is just as bad as the other"? Seriously? While there is truth to this train of though in this instance it is an absolute moronic sentiment.

Hey, I was only quoting the Nazi marchers. It was them that brought him into it. And this whole thing was, after all, their event.

That's right, it's nothing to do with Trump personally.

It's not down to him if certain sections of the the left took his election as an opportunity to start violence and public disorder.

What we are seeing now is the result of causality. That is where the opportunity arose. Violence begets violence.

You just don't get it, it's like you've not been paying no attention to what has been happening for the last 10 years and are only now wanting to add your piece.

What's moronic is people look at the incident in isolation and come up with some brainless synopsis that it's all down to one incident and nothing else brought us to this sad point in time.

It was their event. Probably would have past by without incident if agitators didn't arrive and have the the sole goal cause shit.

The best way to expose these "Nazis" is to show them for the ridiculous idiots they are. Going there to start fights with them doesn't really have the impact the idiots who start the violence hope for. All it does is rally more idiots to their stupid causes.

Black Lives Matter was started by a woman whose hero is a Cop killer and is wanted on the FBI's most wanted list. Do you think if this woman uses Obama's name it makes him in any way implicit or share the sames views as her?

I'd say it wouldn't represent him just because she and her extremist views name checked him.

Given you've added nothing to the conversation that displays a lack of any understanding of what's going on i'd say likewise.

I can only put your ignorance down to the distance to Australia. Trump is a neo-Nazi enabler. He has boosted their profile and their numbers. Yes, he's to blame. He enables them by refusing to name them when he condemns the violence. He enables them when he opts not to call yesterday's attack domestic terrorism.

And as the alt-right always do, you spectacularly miss the overall point. You are correct, there are extremists on both sides. The difference is this. The extreme left hate the extreme right because they are extreme right. The extreme right hate the extreme left because they are extreme left. BUT (big but) as we have heard from them this weekend, the alt-right also hate people who are African American, they hate Jews, they hate homosexuals, they hate Muslims, they hate immigrants, they hate Latinos. There is no comparison with the extreme left. And they have been encouraged in much of this from the words and inactions of Trump.

Terrible argument.

He didn't call James Hodgkinson a domestic terrorist did he, remember him? The answer is no by the way.

A Bernie Sanders supporter who tried and succeeded to shoot a Republican politician. Someone who had a lot of anti-Trump and Republican rants to his name. (Guess that was Bernie's fault using your logic)

He could have spun that any way he liked but he chose to let the Police deal with it and not get into saying "person X" was this and that.

He's said there's no place for bigoted hate and that's all that needs to be said. The actions of the far right morons do more than words can.

I'm not missing any point. Hate is hate. Anyone can be a victim of that hate, ANYONE.

What you're seemingly trying to do is to rank who is hated on and conflate that to meaning one has more potential to cause violence upon a person than the other. When in todays climate anyone who doesn't hold certain views could be a victim of violence.

If you're a Jew in the US these days, you're more likely to be vilified by the liberal left than the right because the largest number of Jews don't live in the red states.

That antisemitic sentiment is right up the Nazis alley and yet it's coming from the left. So who are the Nazis again?

Read that.

“I think we’re in a time when we can’t ignore the extremism from the Left,” said Oren Segal, the director of the Center on Extremism, an arm of the Anti-Defamation League. Over the past few months, the ADL, which hosts regular seminars on homegrown extremism for law enforcement officials, has begun warning of the rising threat posed by far-left groups, most recently at a seminar just this past Sunday. “When we have anti-fascist counterprotests — not that they are the same as white supremacists — that can ratchet up the violence at these events, and it means we can see people who are violent on their own be attracted to that,” Segal said. “I hate to say it, but it feels inevitable.”

Must be a very tiny minority defending what that guy did as I've not seen anyone doing so.

Reprehensible act that should have him fried in the electric chair.
"frying" him leads to the creation of a " martyr " and more hate. 40 years in solitary is a better option.

Have to disagree, he took a persons life and there is no doubt as to his guilt. No point wasting tax payers money.

Virginia has the death penalty so make use of it.

Yes there are. Don't try and convince any sane mind that ANTIFA are simply "liberals". Nobody in the UK would consider a group like that liberal.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2017_Berkeley_protests

I will have to look up ANTIFA. Odd that after 50 years of reading about nut cases I have never heard of this lot, though. Are they really important and influential, and on a par with the KKK, for example? As for your 'quote', its nice to see something a little more credible than Breitbart. However, most 15 year old GCSE politics students can tell you that anarchists are NOT 'far left' (they loath the left) and that anti facists are not all 'far left' by default, as is implied by the 'other' in the quoted text.

As a matter of intrest, do you think the woman run over and killed a couple of days ago, as a presumed member of ANTIFA, deserved to die, the outcome of an equal 'far left versus far right' private matter?
