CPFC Beer Festival

So what beers would be on offer at a Palace beer festival. I reckon these would go down well:-

Fireside Greene King
Bonfire Bitter Hampshire Brewery
Firestoker Marstons

with a bit of Old Growler on offer at the end of the evening

Not seen one yet, There is usually one put up on the BBS a few days before the event when they have all the booze confirmed. Will stick it on here once it surfaces.

I second this.

Although staying above fulham next season would be more difficult - any team that loses 7-1 to a team outside of the top 6 does not deserve to be in the top 6 let alone be in the playoff final/get promoted - in fact they should be automatically disqualified.

I think people are thinking of an official BHA beer festival not a CAMRA festival located at the Amex. It's a good idea, doesn't need to make lots of money just break even and be a good day out for everyone attending.

The 7th Annual Crystal Palace Beer Festival will take place at Selhurst Park Stadium on Saturday May 27th between 12 noon and 8pm.
At this year’s event there will be a choice of well over 200 beers and ciders from craft producers from all around the UK plus the additional selection of bottled beers from across the world.

This issue is that any events at the stadium must involve the caterers. By the time you've dealt with them (not that I'd be blaming them alone), the figures don't really add up. I recall having a conversation with someone at the club about three years ago about it, and they admitted it would be too expensive to run.

A change of attitudes / a sense of imagination is called for, I fancy.

Better deal you don't get such a big selection but all Sussex beers and ciders and you don't have to drink out of Palace Glass.
Also the base for Mid Sussex Seagulls

That's actually the play off final between Hull & Massive being watched, the beer festival having been put back due to us actually being in the FA Cup final.

Err...no its not. Its the shoddy effort put on by your spiv chairman to show your Cup Final on the "big screen" at Selhurst. It failed so miserably that everyone was forced to stand around in your dingy ramshackle concourses to watch it there instead, IF they actually wanted to see the game. And they had to pay a fiver for the "privilege". The story is here.

Well, the line about the Cup Final being shown on the big screen during the beer festival caught my eye, and triggered that memory of what a big screen beamback at Selhurst actually entails.

I'm sure most of the punters will be far more interested in the beer than the football though anyway. TBH, I'm not even sure off the top of my head who's playing.
