Wrong, this is actually a very clever statement.

The candidate has obviously recalled the referendum outcome, and the demographics of the majority. Which you will recall was made up of voters who had lower educational qualifications and therefore has pitched this statement directly to them.

The incorrect grammar will be missed by these voters, and they will feel that the candidate is writing directly to them.
