Gods country fortnightly
The Charity Shield was MASSIVE when we won it, not like the community shield is now.

Winning the Football League eclipse not winning the FA Cup ? Yes, of course.

Its definitely massive when talking to a Palace fan, though i'm not sure

I'd put winning this division at 6th in our list of achievements behind:

the 3 years we stayed up in Division One.
FA Cup Runners up.
Charity Shield.

Unequivocally 'No'.

Runner up in the greatest British cup competiton of the day, versus being the 21st highest team in the English league system.

1. Champions League
2. Premier League
3. FA Cup
4. Europa League
5. League Cup
6. Championship
7. FIFA Club World Cup
8. League One
9. League Two
10. Charity Shield

The Championship is the 6th most prestigious trophy an English football club can win in my view. I'm not a fan of celebrating being a runner up.

Yes, if it happens, then it would be a title... we did NOT win the FA Cup...

It says how de-valued the FA Cup is these days, when a football managers embarrassing dance is far more memorable than the game. I can't even remember which teams actually participated in the final, last year.

I have to say, the reason i started supporting the Albion was the 83 cup final, i've never seen anything like the buzz in the town. The FA cup was much more high profile and prestigious in those days.

I think the answer depends entirely on how old you are.

I was at the '83 cup final, but we lost, so it's the Championship title every time for me...

No.
Different times, but in '83 just being at Wembley was huge. In those days only two games were played there (plus replays) so to get there was a dream.
