Nope, no matter how I count it I can't get to 49% - how did you come up with that figure ?
As pointed out, Labour introduced tuition fees. What do want to add to that fact?
Sorry, my bad, as we were.
The difference being that the cost of HS2 is unknown really, Abbott and O'Donnelly had final figures.
Bursaries and Grants were terminated by Conservatives though.

Lib Dems aren't left, hell under Farron they aren't even particularly liberal except if you like smoking pot.
I'm no fan of Tories but more students attend uni now than ever before. And it was Labour that took away subsidised education or tuition "fees" as they are incorrectly referred to.
However Brexit will see a drastic reduction in international student, income universities rely on. We will see some universities closing down for sure. The less elite ones.

Next time your in town have a look around, did you notice the boots chemist, the Argos, the McDonald's, perhaps the 3 year old child, excited, clutching his happy meal, not sure what toy was inside the bag. In the other hand he holds a mothers day card.
Did you notice anyone placing two parcels inside the bins 100 yards apart.
You may not recall but the scene I describe was Warrington, England 26th Feb 1993. Both parcels were explosive devices and were strategically placed by the IRA so that after the First exploded woman and children would run towards the second bomb.
The first bomb killed 3 year old Jonathan Ball. The blast wave and shrapnel ripped his tiny body to pieces. Both devices had been placed in cast iron bins to maximise the damage, moving away from the seat of the explosion the shrapnel ripped of chunks of flesh, muscle and limbs.
For the past 40 years Jeremy Cornyn has actively supported the IRA. Demonstrating at rallies in favour of these vile cowardice killers.
Jeremy Corbyn, as secretary of the editorial board of hard left magazine Labour Briefing, published a front page article praising the Brighton bombing. The same edition of the magazine, for December 1984, carried a reader’s letter praising the “audacity” of the IRA attack and stating: “What do you call four dead Tories? A start.”
Jeremy Corbyn also demonstrated outside the Royal Courts of Justice in support of the Brighton bomber.
Jeremy Corbyn has been asked repeatedly to condemn the actions of the IRA, he has refused on every occasion.
I apologise to Jonathan's family for politicizing their loss however please understand I would have put my life on the line for this child as was my duty as a soldier of Her Majesty's Armed Forces, I would do the same today as a veteran.

Or indeed that he supported the IRA?
Refusing to comment on it is not the same as supporting it. Perhaps he doesn't feel he needs to add oxygen to people accusing him?

My problem with charging tuition fees in the effect on the economy in the long term. When a student starts earning over the threshold (which is not that high in real monetary value) and start having to pay it back surely it will have an impact on their disposable income for buying consumer goods together with other things such as buying or leasing cars, saving up to buy a home or getting mortgages. Won't this start to impact on the economy?
My second issue is with the interest charged on the debt ( I think it was something around 6%) If I got charged that on my mortgage I would be shafted.

You forget, the government's chosen set of figures say that crime is going down, therefore they are cutting police numbers. Maybe we should get rid of the rest of them now and watch crime reduce to almost nothing?
