You've done the right thing by telling your nephew you'll turn up, but without wishing to appear rude, if he is young and hip, is he really going to want a silly old sod like you turning up when he's on stage trying to impress the girls ? Make a last minute excuse, open a bottle of wine or a few beers and get settled in front of the TV.

You know it makes sense

Won't get away with that. He is also a Brighton season ticket holder so he will see through any excuse I make if I don't turn up. And yes, he does want his "favourite uncle" turning up :lolol: Big night for them tonight as it's their debut EP launch. Besides which, I quite like them anyway so am looking forward to it.

Anyone who says FOOTY should be FORCED to watch SoccerAM for the NEXT 10 years NON stop

I hadn't HERD of SoccerAM. But as I call it FOOTY, is this sentence to involve some sort of hard LABOUR ?

Only the toffs call it footy middle class Chelsea types with Ralph Lauren jumpers neatly drapped over their shoulders.

I've never supported Chelsea and I thought Ralph Lauren was left back for Monaco.

Footy is a JCL term, what middle class prawn sandwich EATERS call a WORKING class mens game

With my socialist leanings, I would choose to distance myself from such suggestion- but a prawn sandwich with thousand island sauce is too enticing.

Perhaps if Barber gave us prawn PIES I could re-connect with my WOKING class roots.

Is that the one in Surrey?

Twas a play on words, for Woking is not thought of as WORKING class. My wit is most offended. I shall return to benign and boring posts.
