Even if they vote yes to stay part of the UK again, in 1/5/10/20 years time there would be another vote. I fear it's something that will be 'ongoing' until they finally vote 'OUT'.

But they did vote, and they voted to stay.
Democracy is not a one time thing where everything is set in stone, situations change. If there is voice calling for a vote and enough support for it, then there is nothing undemocratic about having a second vote, quite the opposite in fact.

Don't socialists or communists get a vote then?
Of course..... I only responded to the bland generalisation that nationhood is old hat.

It's a bit rich to be talking about democracy when everyone seems to be so keen on denying them chance to vote on it. You can't have it both ways.
Already voted...... breaking their own promise that it was a once in a lifetime or even once in a generation event.... economics won't support it..... EU won't allow them in straight away..... it's a non starts whichever way you look at it.

I tend to agree that it feels a matter of when rather than if.

How Sturgeon thinks Scots can take a measured decision before they know what the Brexit deal looks like, I don't know. Then again, May is proving to be so useless at managing Brexit that she'll continue to drive a wedge between the Leave and Remain voters which will only add to animosity in the north of the UK.

Personally, I think that if there was a voted today, they'd vote to remain. The SNP will do all they can now to ramp up anti-Westminster and probably anti-English rhetoric.

Part of the problem is that Sturgeon and May both epitomise qualities in both England and Scotland that the other despises: May = perceived English arrogance and disregard for the other nations in the Union, Sturgeon = Scottish sniping, whingeing and general ungratefulness for getting a pretty good deal for a country their size.

Theresa May comes across as more patronising than Cameron and so I expect that to play into Sturgeon's hands in Scotland.

Just because Gibraltar voted overwhelmingly to stay in the EU (over 90%) does not necessarily mean they want to stop being British. Just because 70% of Scots voted to stay in the EU does not give Sturgeon a mandate that the Scots want to leave the UK. They had a once in a life time referendum. Maybe in 5 years after Brexit they could vote again but every Scot should get to vote. Many of my family were born and raised in Scotland and yet are refused a vote whilst EU workers who live in Scotland get a vote. That is ridiculous gerrymandering on Sturgeon's part. My family on my mother's side descends from Mary Queen of Scots yet she was denied a vote. Disgraceful. My mum is more Scottish than Stugeon and Salmon put together.

It wasn't intended to be a generalisation. All I mean is that it's no longer a concept that works for everyone.
      Not this again.

And if they want ANOTHER go they can a wait a few months longer whilst we sort out the bigger issues right now.
