Not sure this is the best timing

Town fans are getting a bit hot under the collar after comments made by Wagner to the examiner.

"David Wagner admits to Bundesliga 'dream' but the Premier League is 'cool' as well"

It looks a bit like Gus's comments a few years ago suggesting that brighton was not his be and end all of his managerial career.

Very strange timing with it so tight at the top as it is.

Superb timing in my opinion. Suddenly there is a bit of pressure on Huddersfield to go up soonish.

Didn't he have the chance to leave for Wolfsburg in January? Seems to be another case of clutching at straws.

He had to admit it, as the original comments were made to a German outlet Kicker. The Examiner then asked him about it.

Not sure of the context, but I can see it from his point of view and why he said it (maybe if he hadn't meant it as it appears).

Imagine an English former number two has his first managerial job at a German second tier club and they are FLYING. Interviewer (from Germany) asks about managing in the PL and said manager says it would be a dream (which we know it is), but that reaching the top tier in the country he is currently in would be 'cool' too.

The guy clearly has talent and probably won't stay at Huddersfield for ages. He also doesn't think like a fan, so says things without considering the fallout. I agree it's not the best timing, but he strikes me as someone who won't let that affect what his is doing one bit...

Possibly odd timing, but nothing wrong with having ambition. I doubt anyone believes that Huddersfield is his dream job, even if they get to the Prem .

Just like Gus here, it will all end in acrimonious tears imo, hopefully before the end of this season :lolol:

This. Some throw away words in an interview vs actually turning down a club in the Bundesliga who are bankrolled by Volkswagen.

Struggling to find anything that will remotely cause a ripple at Huddersfield over these comments.

Not even poor timing.

Straws... clutches

We hoped that, last year, when Karanka threatened to walk out. Sadly, it didn't do any harm to their promotion.

That's simply not true though. Karanka's little tantrum put a BIG dent in their form - including a shambolic defeat at doomed Charlton - and was probably the big factor in us getting as close to them as we did.

Surely this is a task for agent Herr Tubthumper to create false rumours in Wagners motherland :)
