Yes it is good that Rowett has been appointed at Derby and I would like to see a similar appointment at Norwich so the town get more of a game from both !
yes but we have to play at Norwich as well

      Which will happen first?

Rowett's sacking or his CV landing on at least 4 other chairmen's desk.

Given he possibly had his pick of the clubs available Derby is an interesting choice. Norwich may have been a better bet.
He lives in Derby: a job where you don't have to move is always going to be an attractive one.

Bet he won't last till the end of next season, let alone 18/19

Possibly - but he is a former Derby player, and has lived in the area, since his time managing Burton.

Don't forget we still have to play Norwich who are usually strong at Carrow Road. We don't want them to have improved too much by then.

Good appointment and good for us if we go up. Makes it more likely Derby will take points off Huddersfield.
His sacking at Birmingham is the worse managerial decision of the season.
why is it good for us 'if we go up' ?

Because if the worst happened and we don't go up this season, Derby are likely to be a real force under him next season.

A post on Ramstalk claims that Mel Morris has a 'leadership' group among the playing squad. These are treated differently, taken on days out etc. If that is the case, I can't see how any manager can possible get a squad playing together. How can he instill team spirit when the club's owner goes out his way to foster unity?

It's an extraordinary claim to make - it sounds too unlikely to be true. But who knows ... there are mad things at some clubs

Rowett and his management team are all ex-Birmingham City players so he had a lot of goodwill from the fans, he 'got' the club and this helped him gain the support of his players. Taking them from 21st place into the play-off positions was an amazing achievement in what is a very competitive league.

This Derby job is so tough because expectation is so high. The season is over so he can be ruthless - for a lot of those players the gravy train is pulling out of the station and they're not on board.

It's going to take any manager two years to turn that squad around.

Which is his problem because he won't get two years, he'll be lucky to get 6 months if theyre not pushing for promotion in that timescale.
