    West Ham "ticket forwarding"

    19 Not allowed!
Just seen this from West Ham. A bit of a contrast to our approach:

If you are a Season Ticket Holder and cannot attend a game at London Stadium, you can now forward your ticket to a friend or fellow supporter to use for a game – or donate it to the West Ham United Foundation, meaning some of the most deprived West Ham supporters in the local borough can benefit by watching the Hammers in action.

This new service runs alongside the Ticket Exchange and gives you the option of sending your ticket to a friend via our online ticketing system.

Forwarding your ticket is simple to do – simply select who you wish to send the ticket to (or donate to the Foundation) and we will do the rest.

The person receiving the ticket will need to have an account with our online ticket office – if they don’t when the ticket is forwarded, they will receive an email to set an account up.

Ticket Forwarding is charged by Ticketmaster at £1.25 per ticket. This cost, like a booking fee, is paid by the person receiving the ticket.

Ahem. Be interested to know PB's thoughts on this scheme.

But how can this possibly be legal and what about the children?

They need to fill their stadium whereas we don't when getting full houses at moment. But it does seem a better system all be it TicketMaster taking a cut
Thru thick & thin, we'll support you evermore

I'm sure Barber's approach to things make sense looking at the balance sheet on a match-by-match basis.

But this sort of thing (which, iirc, we were planning to do not long after moving to Falmer, until the ticketing system changed) would, I suspect, be much better for expanding the fan base.

Imagine it. You benefit from being electronically forwarded a ticket by someone you know at work. Then, a fortnight before the next not-sold-out match, you get an email from the Albion saying "Did you enjoy the game v Derby? We'd love to have you back. Click here to buy a ticket for Albion v Blackburn, as our promotion challenge continues".
"I'm glad I've been able to help a bit."

Hopefully this is something the club will consider next season after seeing if this method has been successful.

I like the idea of donating the tickets to the foundation so somebody less fortunate can use them rather than have an empty seat

      Fantastic idea. Winners all round
Don't take offence. I'm normally ruder than this.

Hmm, not sure about that, surely this system is better for full stadiums. When they're half empty this wouldn't be so good as it could deprive the club of income.
