A few things from last night

My take (opinion) on a few things:

Bruno - Saturday he flighted a ball over a Reading defender for Baldock to score to cries of sublime etc. Oppo player does the same to him last night and he's to blame. Sometimes it's just a great piece of play, accept, move on.

Tomori - for a young lad, out of position, I thought he did very well, particularly 2nd half - what game were some watching?

Sidwell/Stephens - it's great breaking up play, but where's the creativity? Shelvey looked head and shoulders better and he probably had a quiet game for him.

Sidwell/Stephens/Duffy/Murray - all guilty of being sloppy with very poor first touches on occasions that dropped is in the sh1t (Stockdale semi excused but he should know better)

Murray - Seems to have lost half a yard of pace and when the ball is played towards him, all he does is back in to the defender and hope for the best. Hemed has looked better recently in this respect - has Murray accepted his final salary pension by signing permanently?

Just one of those nights - it happens.

There will be more shocks/turn ups in the coming weeks - this is the Championship!! Would I swap our current position - hell NO!

I think tiredness might have played a part. They went hell for leather against Reading and this must have taken it out of them.

This. Not that long to recover before Sat too. Still, the oppo will be much less demanding of us.

I agree with every point there.

I'll add that I wonder if Murray is carrying a slight knock or strain. There's definitely something not quite right about him at the moment. I'll be amazed if Hemed doesn't start on Saturday.

Really? I agree they looked tired and leggy towards the end but they're professional highly pampered athletes ffs! I just think Newcastle, like Huddersfield, are younger, fitter and quicker than us. I don't know what impact this will have as we reach the seasons climax, if any, but it has been a significant factor in our games against these two.

Well i thought Murray was excellent last night as their defence stuck to him like glue. Great battle with him and their centre backs. Not sure why anyone would conclude he's carrying a knock, bizarre.

If his goal hadn't been ruled out on Saturday nobody would be questioning him.

      Agree with all other points.

He pretty much ran the show with creative passes, very impressive.

Agree with most of that. I think a tad harsh on Murray who i think is just knackered. Other than that pretty much spot on.

Yep, I agree with all of that.

I thought a few of them looked tired at the end of the Reading game, so was half expecting a few changes to the starting line-up, or at least during the game. Muzza was one of them and he sounded a bit arsey at times in his post-match interview. Understandable to a point because he was obviously frustrated, but I think the change for Hemed should've come quicker (but then, what do I know?).

One other thing – it looked like Darlow was given MoTM on Sky. If so, that suggests that we didn't sit back or were as complacent as some here might suggest. He made some great saves – on another night they'd have gone in and it wouldn't be all doom and gloom!
